Who’s the Boss

The Wolf Pack football team takes down the Canyon Eagles and earns the Boss Hog

Taking home the hog, the West Plains High School varsity football team plays hard to beat Canyon High School at Happy State Bank Stadium Sept. 8, 2023

The football team took Canyon down in the fight for the Boss Hog. In the 71 plays on our side, the team took home the win with a 48-21 score. The first touchdown was made when Reid Macon made a pass to Jeremiah Gutierrez in the end zone. During the second quarter, Blaine Henry scored 1 yard out. Jordi Hernandez scored 3 touchdowns with 213 yards total. “It was great to see the effort and long summer days these guys have put in all summer pay off,” a WPHS football coach, Coach Chandler, said.  “The way they played gave us a glimpse into the future so I am excited to see what else they can accomplish.”

The team worked hard and accomplished many great things this game. They left with the intention to hold their heads held high for the rest of the season.
